Planning and scheduling of operation are important to meet deadlines, maximize profits and protect the quality of products at The Liquidator Group Inc. The components follow in the Operations Planning and Scheduling System of the company are routing, scheduling, dispatching, and follow up.  

Routing is the route to be followed during each step of the manufacturing process. To ensure quality products, The Liquidator routing consist in followed the process from transforming components and raw material into a final product. Then products are delivered from the warehouse to the store, and from the store to the customer location. Depending the product and its availability on store, sometimes it goes directly from the warehouse to the customer location.

 

Scheduling at The Liquidator Inc. is the process of arranging, controlling, and optimizing workload in the production process. Scheduling is done based on customers availability and preference. Scheduling delivering, help to optimizing production, and capacity planning to reduce bottlenecks, and customers dissatisfaction.

 

Dispatching determines the priority to set the best order to ensure that customers get the right product at the right time and no damages. Before a product leaves the warehouse, the dispatcher needs to give resolution to production problems, and ensure the products leave the manufacture in excellent conditions.  For the Liquidators, it is a very important step of the process because the goal is to delivery product on time meeting the highest standards of quality. Products with excellent quality without damages reduce costs and creates happy customers.

 

After the dispatching function is completed, scheduling to manufacture and deliver products is set, a Follow-up must be completed. Follow-up consists in check and analyze that the production and delivering was carried according to plan. If something went wrong, it ensures proper coordination of production activities and plans to take corrective actions and improve the production system.
